To be enlightened is to be intimate with all things, the famous Japanese Zen master Dogen Zenji told his students every morning. It was easy for him to say, it was the year 1200. There was no asphalt on the earth, no satellites in the sky and our backpacks were not full of screens, chargers and spacers. Infinity was for the Zen master still something with the cosmos, not a swimming pool to lie in. While we live in a world of unlimited data, stuff and possibilities that constantly dance around us, it seems as if we feel less and less connected to it.
