Do the right thing
In this classic by Spike Lee, tensions between different groups in the neighbourhood lead to an eruption on a sweltering day. The film is already 27 years old, but the themes are still relevant.
Tensions between population groups, police brutality and climate issues. This film is also known for its soundtrack featuring the song “Fight the Power” by Public Enemy. Rosie Lee and Martin Lawrence (Bad boys) make their debut. Samuel L. Jackson and John Turturro play a role. And there is even a reference to Trump in it. With Do the Right Thing, Spike Lee established his name as a socially engaged filmmaker who speaks his mind, without losing his sense of humor.
