Being in perfect health and still being able to view an operating room in the making: that is something that only a few people experience. On Construction Day, Saturday 21 June, the doors of the construction site will open and you will be welcome in the new hospital building of Franciscus Gasthuis in Rotterdam. You will have the unique experience of looking in or 'helping' in special spaces. There will be demonstrations, games and fun activities for young and old.

How special is it to walk through an empty ward where babies will soon be born! Will you find out why one patient room is already completely finished and furnished? Bring your sick cuddly toy because the doll doctor is there too. Take a selfie in a doctor's coat or with a hard hat and the Rotterdam skyline in the background. Climb behind the wheel of an ambulance or look into the special bus of the construction workers.

Are you a technology enthusiast? In the technical heart on the 2nd floor you can see an entire floor with the innovations and installations that make the new hospital building run. Just like in the film, you can look right through the walls and floors of the building with the digital 3D model. Learn about safety in construction and the hospital.
