Dive into the dark world of The Halloween Event 2026 in Heerhugowaard! Experience a spooky ghost tour full of acts, characters and jump scares. Do you dare?
Do you dare to venture into the dark? The Halloween Event has been the annual Halloween spectacle of Heerhugowaard since 2011. What once started as a small ghost tour for and by young people has since grown into a full-fledged event with more than 70 enthusiastic volunteers and hundreds of visitors who all have one thing in common: enthusiasm for Halloween.
A unique experience in the Waarderhout
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the Waarderhout will once again be transformed into a dark setting full of surprises and jump scares. You will walk in a group of up to 8 people along a carefully mapped-out route. This tour takes you not only along paved paths, but also through narrow forest trails, dense undergrowth, and along dark ditches where danger can strike from unexpected corners. The route takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, partly depending on how scared you and your group are and whether we have to search for you in the woods because you ran away.
Along the way, you will encounter mysterious acts, chilling figures, and scenes that will seriously disturb your night's sleep. Every year, our volunteers pour their heart and soul into new themes, decorations, and acts to provide you and your group with an immersive experience. No tour is the same: every year, new surprises are added that will manage to surprise even the most seasoned horror fan.
