Coco is a colourful and moving animated film that revolves around 12-year-old Miguel, a Mexican boy with a big dream of becoming a musician. However, his family has had a strict ban on music for generations. Together with the charming trickster Héctor, Miguel must search for his great-great-grandfather there to get his blessing, unravel the family history, and return to the real world in time before he himself becomes a skeleton forever. The film takes place entirely during Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead), the traditional Mexican holiday on which families commemorate and celebrate their deceased loved ones. When Miguel secretly plays the guitar of his musical idol on this magical evening, he becomes mysteriously enchanted and is transported to the beautiful and vibrant Land of the Dead.
