This year, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, the Paradijskerk will be transformed into a real art-house cinema! Three films that explicitly or implicitly have a link with religious heritage, including a thematic discussion with an inspiring guest as a warm-up.
The Monastery: Mr. Vig and the Nun is a 2006 Danish documentary film directed by Pernille Rose Gronkjaer.
The eccentric-looking Mr. Vig walks through rooms and thinks about what is needed for nuns. The rooms belong to the Danish castle Hesbjerg, which Mr. Vig once bought, with the idea of turning it into a monastery. His dream, which he has cherished since 1950, seems to be coming true, now that an Orthodox community from Russia has agreed to send nuns and priests to live in the monastery in the making and to help with its creation.
