Beuk (4+) - Kim van Zeben
Chef the Mouse loses his home and finds shelter with Beuk the Woodcutter. What follows is a cartoonish performance full of wild chases, comical falls, and a surprising friendship between man, animal, and nature.
A cartoonish world full of chaos
Chef the Mouse loses his home when his tree is unceremoniously sawed down. He finds shelter under a log cabin in the woods. It is dry there and there is food in abundance. But Beech the Woodcutter is not happy about it: that cabin belongs to her. When Owl also comes around the corner, the chaos is complete. Beech is a physical performance in which you are swept into a world full of spectacular chases, fights, and comical falls. High-level slapstick, lots of throwing and smashing, and things are allowed to break.
A story about friendship
Behind all the spectacle lies a moving story about friendship between man, animal, and nature. The press was enthusiastic: de Volkskrant (4 stars) writes that the performers drive, shoot, saw, fall, fight, and sing 'excellently'. De Theaterkrant calls it an 'exhilarating, cartoonish slapstick performance' with a magnificent owl puppet, cheerful sound effects, and special effects that make children bounce in their seats. The performance lasts 60 minutes and is suitable for children aged 4 and up.
