Art and tangible memories

At Alle Richtingen, you can view the permanent collection of Fenix Rotterdam. Here, you will find artworks by more than 100 artists from all over the world. Among the artworks, you will also discover tangible reminders of the history of migration. For example, you can see a section of the Berlin Wall, a tent from a refugee camp, and one of the first passports for stateless people.

Stories that transcend boundaries

Alle Richtingen tells stories about identity, happiness and work, borders and fleeing, and the concept of home. The artists show that migration is timeless and that feelings such as love, sorrow, and hope are part of migration. Together, they tell stories of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

The Fenix collection includes paintings, sculptures, videos, installations, and photographs by both emerging talents and established names, such as Francis Alÿs, Sophie Calle, William Kentridge, and Steve McQueen. Five artists have created new works especially for Fenix, which are on display in Rotterdam for the first time. These are Beya Gille Gacha, Raquel van Haver, Hugo McCloud, Chae Eun Rhee, and Efrat Zehavi.
