With 50 cent & Beckett, they show us their unceasing, combative search for the meaning of life, which, 'spoiler alert', is not found. However, there is comfort to be found in the voice of the other and in being able to close your eyes for a brief moment and know that you are not alone, at least for the duration of the story. In these life stories, steeped in a persistent fight against a lost cause that seems invincible, the actual daily struggle of the black man is contrasted with the existential loneliness of the white man in the late Western 20th century.

As a joint storytelling duo, Muizelaar and Y.M.P get to work on stage, where the text is arranged and composed like an associative jazz piece, with chance and order as defining principles.

Muizelaar and Y.M.P show the audience their heroes on a bare stage, thereby paying tribute to the craftsmanship of the storyteller, the clown and the legend. They are accompanied by musicians and a DJ. The performance is for old and new school, repertoire and experiment, activism and l’art pour art.
