About My Stolen Planet
Filmmaker Farahnaz Sharifi, born during the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979, has lived a double life since childhood. Growing up under a strict religious regime, she learns at the age of seven that there is one identity for home and another for the outside world.
In My Stolen Planet (2024), a diary-style documentary, Sharifi reflects on this divided existence, casting not only herself, her family, and friends, but also countless strangers whose lives enter the film through found home videos from Iran.
About There Was One, There Was None
There Was One, There Was None (2026) by Yasmin Shahbahrami explores the friendship between two Iranian girls across time and distance. With its refined colour palette and melancholic tone, the film captures both the longing for connection and the difficulty of sustaining deep bonds through modern technology.
The documentary was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) 2026.
