The non-profit organization Herenplaats is a place with activities in the field of visual arts meta-studios, its own gallery and art lending.

Home of artists

Discover Galerie Atelier Herenplaats, an inspiring place where artistic talent merges with a unique story. This studio in the heart of Rotterdam offers a home to approximately 35 artists with an intellectual disability or psychiatric background. Herenplaats has created a special art training course especially for them, where experienced artists and teachers guide them. After successfully completing this training, they join the artist collective, where they can further develop and demonstrate their creativity.

Activities

In addition to the daily work in the gallery and studio, Herenplaats is actively involved in various projects throughout the year. From lectures and symposiums to educational programs and workshops, this studio participates in a wide range of activities. Many of these projects are created in collaboration with various institutions from Rotterdam and even internationally, creating a stimulating environment where creativity and collaboration come together.
