WORM Rondleiding Cesare Peeren, de WORM Architect
WORM's architect Peeren will give a tour of the WORM building, in which he will discuss all the sometimes absurd ins and outs with you, but also the ideas behind the construction and design, the use of second-hand materials, with background and anecdotes about the fire brigade, air freshening, movable walls, photo institute rails, aircraft parts and other matters.
Meeting point; at the main entrance. Be on time (1500h) because we start punctually (or fairly punctually).
Césare Peeren (1968) is an architect. In 2012, he founded the architectural firm Superuse Studios together with Jan Jongert. The firm designs buildings and objects from residual materials. They also advise municipalities and companies on the reuse of waste. In the Netherlands, 200 wind turbine blades are taken to the dump every year to be incinerated. Blades are made of a plastic composite that cannot be recycled. Superuse Studios designs urban furniture from this structural waste stream under the name Blade Made. So far, this has resulted in a seating object, two playgrounds, one of which is in Rotterdam, a bus stop and a pedestrian bridge.
