Workshop-serie: Tweejarige plantjes zaaien

Part 1: sowing

On Wednesday, June 20, we are organizing a workshop in which you will learn how to sow biennial plants. You will work with violets, wallflowers and foxgloves, among others. And these plants are of course intended for your own garden or on your balcony. Biennials are perfect for anyone who wants to add some extra color and variety to the garden without having to re-sow every year.

Part 2: transplanting

During this session you will learn how to prick out the biennial plants that you sowed in June. This process helps the plants to become stronger and grow better.

Did you know that pruning ensures that the young plants have more space to develop their roots? This makes them firmer and healthier. Biennials such as pansies, wallflowers and foxgloves benefit from this extra care. Transplanting them to a larger pot or container gives them the best chance of blooming beautifully in their second year.

During the workshop we will give you practical tips and show you step by step how to do this. You will learn how to carefully remove the young plants from the ground and replant them without damaging their vulnerable roots. This workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced students, no prior knowledge is required.
