Wildsong NDT1

Martens is a unique dance artist known for his daring and abstract creations that radiate energy. For Martens, contemporary music is the starting point of his creative process and with it he brings each piece of music to life in an exciting way. When selecting this, he consciously chooses to look beyond the often male-dominated mainstream music, with the aim of generating more attention for alternative, innovative voices. For his first NDT 1 creation, Martens works with a large ensemble of dancers on the provocative, punk-like compositions Pretty by Julia Wolfe and GG Concerto by Hanna Kulenty, which complement each other perfectly and magnify the movements on stage. This world premiere promises to be a celebration of endurance, resistance, genius and rebellion.
