WFFR Lokaal: No shade in the forest

This year, we are once again participating in WildLIFE Lokaal, part of the Wildlife Film Festival. During the local weeks leading up to the festival, you have the chance to see beautiful films in advance at a location in your neighborhood! We start the evening with a shared meal from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The film begins at 7:00 PM. Afterwards, of course, we will have a discussion. This time, we are showing an impressive documentary about the hidden consequences of war for nature. An eco-journalist travels more than 9,000 kilometers through war-torn Ukraine to document the large-scale ecological destruction (ecocide) in nature reserves and national parks. Her journey takes her past scorched steppes, mine-strewn forests, and dried-up rivers. From the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone to the Black Sea coast, she captures the impact on wildlife and vulnerable ecosystems, aiming to draw international attention to these often invisible consequences of war. The film is spoken in Ukrainian with English subtitles. We hope to see you there!
