We Start with the Things We Find

In the nineties, the founders of LOT-EK, the Neapolitan architects Ada Tolla and Giuseppe Lignano, ended up in New York, a city that was unattractive and raw at the time. Tolla and Lignano saw beauty in all these imperfections. Where others saw residual waste, they considered it as building materials for their architectural and interior designs. When they visited a container park for the first time, they realised the potential of this industrial product. With childlike enthusiasm, they developed an oeuvre by upgrading sea containers into high-quality homes.
