Warmetarwe-Winterfestival

This December, CultuurWerkplaats Tarwewijk opens its doors for a heartwarming afternoon filled with Caribbean rhythms, creativity, and community. The WarmeTarwe Winter Festival brings together music, art, and coziness – a colourful winter celebration for everyone!

The program is organized by Stichting Zuidtopia, in collaboration with CultuurWerkplaats Tarwewijk and Art is Home.

🎵 Music

The musical soul of the day comes from none other than Mok the One Man Band.

Arnold Sardjoe, better known as M.O.K. (Master of Keyz), began piano lessons at age twelve at the Centrum voor Kunstzinnige Vorming in Oss. His exceptional talent was soon recognized. With his band Reinforcement, he opened for reggae legends like Gyptian and Richie Spice. After one performance, a fellow musician gave him his nickname, saying: “You were born with the keys, man!”

🎨 Workshops

There will be creative workshops for all ages:

• Portrait Drawing with Daphne Bom (for adults)
• Button Making with teacher Annija (for children)
• Screen Printing with Stichting We Don’t Care (for youth)

🧣 Winter Market & Outdoor Activities

Explore the winter market with handmade gifts from local makers. Outside, you can roast marshmallows and bake breadsticks over the fire, enjoy hot chocolate, and hang a wish in the wishing tree – together, we’ll make the winter a little brighter.

🖼️ Exhibitions

Inside and outside, artists from the neighborhood will show their work, including portraits and community projects from Art is Home. During the festival, Art is Home will officially launch its Outdoor Studios (BuitenAteliers), bringing creativity into the open – right in the heart of Tarwewijk.

🍲 Food & Drinks

Enjoy delicious bites from Ruby’s Kitchen, warm drinks from Take-A-Way, and our cozy café, open all afternoon. To make it even more festive: every visitor receives a free drink upon arrival!
