A story lunch with Rotterdam-Jewish Clara Schifrah.
Sonja DuBois, born Clara van Thijn, was saved from deportation as a two-year-old Jewish girl during World War II by courageous artists and people who hid her. Her parents were murdered in Auschwitz, while she grew up in a foster family that later emigrated to the United States. It was only later in life that she discovered her true origins and began her search for identity.
She published her life story and joined the network of 'Hidden Children'. In her testimonies she warns of the dangers of anti-Semitism and racism. Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact of war and the value of freedom.
