Restorers & Innovators in Freedom People's Kitchen with story, live music, expo tour and dinner.
On the occasion of 80 years of freedom, Verhalenhuis Belvédère invites you to a special edition of the Volkskeuken. In a warm and open setting, the meaning of freedom, then and now, will be commemorated. Stories of Rotterdammers with various backgrounds will be shared, including that of David Hausdorff – general practitioner, Jew and born in Rotterdam – told by writer Trix van Bennekom.
The evening will be enriched with a performance by Ukrainian singer Maryana Golovchenko, a personal tour by young curator Zeina Dabagh, and a Syrian freedom meal prepared by guest chef Anahid Darwish. Eating together, listening and exchanging are central to this program that makes freedom tangible, beyond generations and borders.
