Viola Innocenti Hosts - Boccadoro Trio - Balfolk Dancing Concert

Collective exuberance and community experience, in the joy of dancing: that is Bal Folk! This movement, which originated mainly in France in the 1970s, is now conquering dance floors all over Europe and gives traditional folk dances a contemporary groove. The dances are a wide range of circle, line and couple dances: sometimes energetic, sometimes romantic...

The Boccadoro Trio (from Italy) plays original music and their own arrangements of traditional melodies to dance or listen to. Some dances will be explained at the beginning, so that even those who are not familiar with balfolk can get acquainted with it. Don't worry, it's super easy and very quick to learn!

Founded in 2020, Boccadoro-Trio is a musical project of three young Italian musicians who come from classical music, but are united by a great love for dance and folk music.

The need not to separate different musical styles led them to create this trio with the aim of integrating their previous background with balfolk: polyphony, clarity of sound and harmonic complexity on the one hand, and rhythm, freedom and danceability on the other.

Within this musical exploration, dance adaptations of classical pieces and soundtracks, original compositions and arrangements of traditional melodies emerged.

Line up: Anna Gioria on vocals, violin and mandolin; Gabriele Putzulu on acoustic guitar, loopstation and stompbox; Yarince Vicenzo on clarinets and percussions.
