Through the Grapevine
Through the Grapevine is a quirky pas de deux between two men. Performers Alexander Vantournhout and Axel Guérin show their bodies, stripped of all frills.
They are trained but certainly not perfect and do not try to convince with virtuoso movements. Gradually their athletic bodies collide with physical limits and through the movements they discover the strengths and weaknesses of their own specific body structure.
The choreography plays with these different proportions and physical strength. The performers search for balance, equilibrium and harmony with great effort and concentration, without also shying away from humour. They challenge and help each other, they lead the dance in turn. Through an uninterrupted mutual contact, the interweaving of touching and being touched develops as the basic melody of the performance.
