Taylor Eigsti feat. Gretchen Parlato, Casey Abrams & Ben Wendel

The story of pianist, composer and Grammy winner Taylor Eigsti is that of a child prodigy. He grew up in California, started playing piano at the age of four, and has since released eight albums as a bandleader. He plays as a sideman on more than 70 albums. Taylor won a Grammy in 2022 for his album Tree Falls . He also wrote a composition for the film Miles Ahead together with Don Cheadle.

The list of greats with whom Eigsti has performed, toured or recorded is endless: Dave Brubeck, Sting, Joshua Redman, Joshua Bell, Esperanza Spalding, John Mayer, Chris Potter, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Snarky Puppy, Christian McBride, Gretchen Parlato, Julian Lage, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Dianne Reeves, Ambrose Akinmusire, Lalah Hathaway, Joe Lovano, Hank Jones and many others.

In addition to touring with his own bands, Eigsti is a regular member of Terence Blanchard's E-Collective and regularly tours in duo with singer Lisa Fischer. He is a member of the bands of Gretchen Parlato, Ben Wendel, Kendrick Scott, Eric Harland and Chris Botti. He has also performed with leading symphony orchestras and composed a lot of symphonic music.

Taylor Eigsti's brand new album Plot Armor features a dream line-up: vocalists Gretchen Parlato and Becca Stevens, saxophonists Ben Wendel and Dayna Stephens; guitarists Charles Altura and Julian Lage; keyboardists Maya Kronfeld and Eigsti himself; bassists David “DJ” Ginyard and Harish Raghavan; drummers Oscar Seaton, Jr., and Kendrick Scott. With special guests Terence Blanchard and Lisa Fischer, together with a string quartet. He will perform the repertoire of this beautiful album tonight with special guests on the stage of LantarenVenster!
