From Golden Earring to Supersister to The Nits and back again; Robert Jan Stips is a name that has long been part of Dutch pop history. He has been working with violinist Marieke Brokamp for several years. Together they tour the country with a dynamic duo program. With an exciting and broad repertoire they blur the boundaries between many musical styles.
Stips and Brokamp take you to surprising music worlds via cross-overs with or adaptations of classics and modern classics... from Franz Schubert to Arvo Pärt... Always provided with stories that are inextricably linked to this. With remarkable ease and pleasure in playing together, they also perform adaptations for violin and piano of the better-known work from Stips' rich pop history.
