Songs of Earth

His daughter, director Margreth Olin, films him for a year as a guide through the spectacular Norwegian valley of Oldedalen, which he knows like the back of his hand. Margreth left the area years ago; her (ancestor) parents are a lot more settled. They grew up there, fell in love there and founded several families - occasional landslides and floods resulting in the loss of loved ones are also part of life in the capricious nature.

With these kinds of family stories, facts about the village and anecdotes from his own childhood, father is generous, as older people can be. But when he walks, surrounded by rocks, animals and drones, there is peace. The breathtaking landscape is accompanied almost exclusively by the sounds of nature, which the London Contemporary Orchestra translated into melodies. A grand natural spectacle, built on a personal history.
