Shaking Shame Melyn Chow / Frascati producties in coproductie met CAMPO

Can you let go of discomfort and shame around physical pleasure? Melyn Chow explores this with Shaking shame : an intimate, physical performance that examines the connection between shame, pleasure and liberation.

Five performers create a landscape of shaking, deforming bodies. Sacred and promiscuous, playful and dangerous. With the audience's eyes on them, the players try to transform fear and shame into a powerful, liberating movement. As the boundaries between the sensual, sexual and everyday fade, they invite you to experience the erotic as a source of strength.

For the performance, Melyn Chow was inspired by the words from Audre Lorde's essay Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power .
