Forsa Ansestral: Afro-Curaçaoan culture in Rotterdam

Forsa Ansestral is the Rotterdam edition of Sendebibu on Tour, an evening dedicated to Afro-Curaçaoan cultural heritage, ancestral knowledge and transmission. Sendebibu is an intergenerational platform that helps Caribbean communities and the diaspora to reconnect with ancestral practices, knowledge and relationships, with a special focus on tambú. Community knowledge is created and shared from one's own strength and resources. This evening offers a stage for meaningful, creative dialogues about Curaçaoan culture, shared from its true essence.

Community programme and tambú performance

The evening begins with a community programme focused on connecting and learning about culture. You will participate in a libation, conversation, eat together and watch the screening of Forsa Ansestral, followed by a post-screening discussion and a tambú. After the community programme, the evening continues with a tambú performance and a night full of Caribbean and diasporic sounds. This way, you will experience the rich culture of Curaçao in all its facets.
