SANKOFA
A black American model experiences the horrors of slavery on a West Indian plantation during a photo shoot in Africa and finds redemption in community and rebellion within a Maroon colony.
A self-absorbed African American model is spiritually transported during a photo shoot in Africa to a West Indies plantation, where she experiences firsthand the physical and psychological horrors of slavery, and ultimately the redemptive power of community and rebellion. She becomes a member of a freedom-seeking Maroon colony.
