City carillonneur Richard de Waardt invites top carillonneurs and other top musicians to create a beautiful, fun and unforgettable musical evening. The roof of the Heuvel Building is an ideal listening place to listen to the 17th century carillon of the Laurenstoren. Carillonneurs from the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and the United States immerse you in the wonderful world of bronze bell art. The performance of the carillonneurs alternates with beautiful and intimate live music on the listening area of the roof terrace by professional musicians . Upon arrival, everyone is offered a free snack and drink by hostess Irene Smit and the bar is also open during the concert. In short, a wonderfully musical summer evening in a unique and exclusive spot in the heart of Rotterdam.

Carillon: Rosemarie Seuntiens (NL)

Rosemarie Seuntiëns, born in Klokkendorp Asten, is the carillonneur of various places in the South of the Netherlands, including Asten and Eindhoven and Venray. She has given guest concerts in Belgium, Germany, France, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the Czech Republic (Prague annually on Christmas Day, Oldtown Square and on the Vltava) and the US. During the Freedom Concert on May 10, 2023, Rosemarie performed together with the Washington Ballet at the invitation of the embassy. The performance on the Dutch carillon at Arlington followed the speech by Princess Margriet of the Netherlands in Washington DC. Seuntiëns enjoys creating unique projects around the carillon and the cultural heritage of this instrument, with her Roaming Bells.

Violin / Accordion / Guitar / Percussion: Kabál

Kabál plays idiosyncratic folk music, firmly rooted in the Low Countries. Three seasoned musicians start from typical dances such as mazurka, waltz and Scottish, and merge their own musical world into them. Grooves and melodies are created in the minds of Richard de Waardt (also city carillonneur of Rotterdam) and Katrien Bos. Mark van Dal accompanies them on guitar to breathe life into these compositions. Percussionist Jo Zanders regularly joins this trio and conjures up exciting rhythms from his (often self-designed) instruments that make it impossible to sit still. Artisanal music, made to be enjoyed with open ears and feet off the floor.
