City carillonneur Richard de Waardt invites top carillonneurs and other top musicians to create a beautiful, fun and unforgettable musical evening. The roof of the Heuvel Building is an ideal listening place to listen to the 17th century carillon of the Laurenstoren. Carillonneurs from the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and the United States immerse you in the wonderful world of bronze bell art. The performance of the carillonneurs alternates with beautiful and intimate live music on the listening area of the roof terrace by professional musicians . Upon arrival, everyone is offered a free snack and drink by hostess Irene Smit and the bar is also open during the concert. In short, a wonderfully musical summer evening in a unique and exclusive spot in the heart of Rotterdam.

Carillon: Richard de Waardt (NL) & Dina Verheyden (BE)

Dina Verheyden (1982) teaches at the Royal Carillon School “Jef Denyn”. She is the carillonneur of Puurs and the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe-over-de-Dijle Church in Mechelen. Richard de Waardt (1982) is the city carillonneur of Rotterdam. He plays the carillons of the Laurenskerk, the town hall and the Pilgrim Fathers Church in Delfshaven every week. Richard is also the inspiration and driving force behind the summer concerts on the roof of the Heuvel Building and the garden concerts in the beautiful courtyard of the town hall. Dina & Richard are married and, as one of the few carillon duos, they have played in many places around the world, such as the United States, France, Switzerland, Barcelona, Lithuania, Poland and Germany.

Diatonic accordion & piano: Duo Niepold/Verschueren

Niepold/Verschueren is fireworks, surprise, passion, talent, beauty and ugliness, rough and raw. Anne Niepold (accordion) and Florejan Verschueren (piano) play their own work with an improvised character, regularly take unexpected paths and sometimes grab you by the wrists to show what music means to them. A daring concert about friendship, played for life and death. Anne Niepold is a diatonic accordionist, but above all a musician. She experiences her music with passion, without stylistic boundaries, accessible to everyone. Writing compositions and arrangements is an integral part of her work. Florejan Verschueren is a much sought after pianist with many artists. His roots lie in classical music, but he hibernates with jazz, pop and folk. This melting pot of influences gives Florejan a unique style of his own, which he also applies to his solo work.
