Rotterdam Photo 2026
Rotterdam Photo is an energetic and accessible photo festival showcasing new voices in photography. In an iconic container village, you'll discover urgent, international photo art, meet the creators themselves, and delve into in-depth talks. With compelling exhibitions, live music, and food trucks, Rotterdam Photo is the place where art, connections, and a festival atmosphere converge.
The event celebrates the diversity and broad spectrum of contemporary photography. As part of Rotterdam Art Week, Rotterdam Photo attracts approximately 10,000 visitors annually, including art lovers, collectors, gallery owners, and international journalists from various parts of the world.
Every year, the fair offers independent photographers the opportunity to exhibit their projects. Photographers can participate individually or on behalf of their galleries by submitting their work and projects through an open call related to a current theme. The aim of the photo fair is to offer photographers affordable exhibition space at a lower cost than traditional art and photography fairs.
Inspired by Rotterdam's history as a port city, the festival offers selected photographers an exhibition space in repurposed shipping containers, as well as the public spaces of Rotterdam, thus taking photography beyond the 'white cube' tradition.
