In RIJK-DOM, maker Perry Gits investigates how rituals — old, new, borrowed or own — shape life and death. What do you take with you from your culture and what do you create yourself when the world around you changes? In a visually and musically explosive performance full of fashion and club vibes, Gits takes you on a personal and collective quest. The soundtrack mixes ambient, East African influences, industrial and rock into a compelling whole, performed live by guitarist Rory Ronde and percussionist/electronic producer Yariv Vroom. Dance and music enter into symbiosis: neither accompanies the other, they exist in constant interaction. RIJK-DOM is raw, spiritual and groundbreaking — a ritual in itself.
