Queer Gym x Nieuwe Instituut: Gymnastique Artistique
Start the morning of the stage with a yoga lesson on the terrace, be encouraged on the Air Bike under musical accompaniment and do a running warm-up through the museum rooms. Recharge in the New Café with homemade energy iced tea and gym limo.
Program
- 9:00-10:00 - outside, terrace Nieuwe Café: A yoga class outside on the terrace of Nieuwe Instituut by yoga teacher Anna. The best start for a smooth (working) day.
- 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM – inside, New Café: Recharge in the New Café with homemade energy iced tea and gym limo.
- 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM – outside, Museum Park entrance: Marie-Léa MC's on the Air Bike at the entrance of Nieuwe Instituut on Rochussenstraat and encourages cyclists and the public. Cycle along, make meters or join our course.
- 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM – inside, in the museum and halls: In a course of about half an hour, you will go through the museum while exercising, guided by trainers Alex and Radha. A breeze? It certainly won't be. Maximum 10 participants per round.
About Queer Gym
This mind & body workout is given by Queer Gym, the first Dutch gym aimed at non-normative bodies, founded by Romy Rockx (he/him, that/his) and located in Rotterdam West. Queer Gym is now a foundation and active for everyone who wants to (re)discover the pleasure and confidence in exercise in a safe setting.
About Nieuwe Instituut
Nieuwe Instituut is the national museum and institute for architecture, design and digital culture, located in Rotterdam's Museum Park. The exhibitions, events, research and other national and international initiatives show how design ideas contribute positively to urgent social challenges. Nieuwe Instituut is a meeting place for makers, thinkers and visitors, and manages the National Collection for Dutch Architecture and Urban Planning and the museum house Huis Sonneveld, an icon of functionalist architecture from 1933.
