Poison

Poison tells the story of Lucas (Tim Roth) and Edith (Trine Dyrholm) who meet again years after their divorce in a cemetery. The reason for their meeting is the reburial of their child, because poison was found in the soil. During the few hours they spend together, it becomes clear how badly the great loss has poisoned their lives. Is it possible for them to continue with their lives?

Desiree Nosbusch's debut film is a moving adaptation of Lot Vekemans' play Gif, about a couple who have grown apart and unexpectedly reunite, a decade after the tragedy that drove them apart. Trine Dyrholm plays an impressive role, unleashing Edith's righteous, pent-up anger, while Roth (also executive producer) subtly portrays Lucas' guilt and discomfort.
