For this special Pleinbioscoop evening, Fenix and LantarenVenster are joining forces. Fenix hosts the evening and, together with LantarenVenster, has chosen a film that connects with stories of family, departure, return and coming home: themes that also have a place within the museum.

About the film

Porte Bagage (2026) is a road movie by director Abdelkarim El-Fassi. The film follows Noor (30), her father Musa (76) and her brothers on a journey in which old family patterns, care and personal dreams exist side by side.

Noor has been caring for her father for a long time. When she is offered a job in Paris, she wants to show her brothers what caring for Musa really means. At the same time, she wants to help her father fulfil his wish: to return to Morocco. What begins as a practical journey becomes a trip through family ties, memories and expectations that are not easy to put into words.

The cast of Porte Bagage includes Ahlaam Teghadouini, Mahjoub Benmoussa, Mohammed Chaara, Sahil Amar Aïssa, Moussaab Mahyu and Kaltoum Boufangacha.

The film won the award for Best International Film at Bergamo Film Meeting. Lead actress Ahlaam Teghadouini previously won a Golden Calf.
