PISS POOL
In PISS POOL you enter a TikTok house for the over-sixties. Wet, warm. The space looks like a wellness centre: bubble bath, massage chairs, a beauty corner for skincare routines, sugar-free power drinks and screens galore.
PISS POOL (named after the work of the same name by artist Samantha Nye) explores the phenomenon of ageism from a feminist perspective. In the BVDS characteristic hybrid of digital avatars and living bodies, this theatrical video installation investigates the toxic underbelly of capitalist wellness culture, in which the female body must be young, fit and tight and in which self-care means that we do not take care of each other, but that everyone is responsible for her own (un)health.
