How do humans and theatre survive in a world that is rushing around us? Whenever something seems to be of importance, there is simultaneously something else going on. How do we still see the difference between a major human problem and a trifle, when both are rushing towards us with equal urgency?
Attention and distraction fight for the audience in a deluge of major and minor events. One is drowned out by the other. There is bumping, vomiting, falling, laughing, shitting and crying. No one is listening anymore, or hearing each other. Scene changes come too early, guest appearances by the local ballet school too late. A performance like a busy traffic intersection without rules.
And above, below and behind this squabble? Someone who has something important to say. Will this voice be heard in time after all?
After the success of Het eind van het begin van het einde (2020), Een leuk avondje uit (2022) and De (2024), Theater Artemis, hetpaleis and Het Zuidelijk Toneel are joining forces for a fourth time.
