No Kidding - Julika Marijn

In this theatre special and always sold-out show at De Parade in 2024, Julika Marijn – herself an expert by experience – delves into the world of the NoMo: the not-mom. One in five women does not have a child for various reasons. Thirty-somethings endlessly doubt 'having' children. No Kidding is about everything that happens in a woman's life when she does not become a mother. Because not having children is just as life-defining as having them.

Julika collected statements and special or moving stories about what happens when you don't become a parent. 'A woman without a child is like a man without a job.'

Every evening Julika brings a different inspiring NoMo role model as a guest. They theatrically let the gut of the not-mom speak. No Kidding is for the non-parent, the doubter and the bystander!

At Theaterfestival de Parade 2024, No Kidding was always sold out; there was crying and laughing. Het Parool recommended the show as a gem and Trouw wrote: 'We're bouncing out of the tent'.
