“Our desire for originality has worn down and worn out the world. I can want to be original, but we have to do something, everyone. Now. This is the first performance in which I consciously concern myself with the climate disaster and the mass extinction that has already begun. By not wanting anything new but cherishing what IS there or saving what can still be saved.”

Although Van Dolron has always recycled pieces, she creates a new performance every year. Until now. In her new performance she focuses on our desire for something new. By not wanting to make anything new , not wanting to buy anything new as a costume, not wanting to create anything new as a decor, not wanting to say anything new . In Nothing New, Van Dolron says something true, something important, something that puts a stop to the enormous urge for innovation that has driven us as we continue to wear out and live away from our planet.
