MYSTIC ICK Dans Amsterdam, Illusionary Rockaz Company, Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest, Meervaart

With a background in hip-hop culture, Shailesh Bahoran goes on an adventure in collaboration with ICK Dans Amsterdam with the dancers of the ensemble with a classical/contemporary background. Cross-pollination is also sought in the music and spiritual aspects of the culture of the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra. Six musicians play live during the performance.

Facts

Shailesh Bahoran is a Surinamese-Hindustani choreographer, dancer and theater maker. With strong roots in hip-hop culture, he has specialized in the street-based dance styles of popping and breaking, both solo and with his IRC. Bahoran has worked with, among others, the National Ballet, Don't Hit Mama, the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, Conny Janssen Danst and ISH Dance Collective.

The Swan for 'Most Impressive Dance Production' was awarded to Shailesh Bahoran for his performance AVATARA made with the Duda Paiva Company.

The Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra (AAO) performs from Granada to Baghdad and has several successful theater productions to its name, including REMLA , ZIEL|ROUH and Jihad van Liefde .

ICK Dans Amsterdam has now become the city dance company of Amsterdam and has been responsible for various national and international co-productions in recent years.

MYSTIC is a production by ICK Dans Amsterdam in co-production with Illusionary Rockaz Company (IRC), Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra and de Meervaart
