Museumdag: Kijk achter de schermen van techniek

Discover how our historic vehicles are maintained, take a look under a tram and learn more about the technology that has kept some vehicles moving for decades. How do you actually lift a tram weighing thousands of kilos? How does a tram bogie work? And how do volunteers ensure that historic rolling stock can still run today? During this museum day, you get a special look behind the scenes of the technical work in the depot. Demonstration: a tram is lifted The highlight of the day is a special demonstration where a Vierasser-tram is lifted. At 11:00 and 13:30, our volunteers will show how a tram is safely lifted for maintenance and repairs. Museumtramlijn 22 will take you from Rotterdam Centraal to the museum depot at the Kootsekade. Our museumbuslijnen will also be running again this day between various locations in the city and the museum. Rides on the Museumtramlijn and museumbuslijnen are included with your entrance ticket.
