Margriet van der Linden takes you into a woman's life full of contradictions: from an orthodox Christian family to a lesbian talk show host, and the question of whether anything still changes in a world that is shifting down.
A woman's life full of contradictions
Margriet van der Linden takes you through her own life: from growing up in an Orthodox Christian family to becoming editor-in-chief and 'the first lesbian talk show host'. She uses her experiences to explore whether anything is truly changing for women in the world, or whether the West is simply reverting to an old way of thinking. The performance is based on text and acting by Margriet herself, in collaboration with De Theatertroep and Theater de Richel.
Who is Margriet van der Linden?
Margriet van der Linden is a programme maker, writer, and presenter. She had her own talk show, M, and created the documentary series State of Hate (2024) and How To Be Gay (2018). In 2015, she appeared as a contestant on Wie is de Mol. She has written several books, including the novel De liefde niet, and won the Sonja Barend Award for Best Interview in 2024. With this performance, she takes to the theater for the first time with her own solo show.
