Makandra
Makandra is Surinamese and means together. But how can we be together when this painful past divides us?
In the performance 'Makandra' six women tell each other stories about their past. They were born in Curacao, in Suriname, in the Netherlands.
A large rug is beaten, the dust slowly drifts down. The six women know: this is what we have to face. Together.
