Long Play: Avalanches - No Bad Memories
Koda presents the event series Long Play, in which new albums are listened to from beginning to end and then discussed. This time: The Avalanches with ‘No Bad Memories’.
About Long Play
Long Play is an event series that celebrates new albums and gives the album format the attention it deserves. Koda selects an album that deserves full attention. The album is played from beginning to end. After listening, a joint discussion follows about what has been heard.
The Avalanches – No Bad Memories
For this edition, ‘No Bad Memories’ by The Avalanches has been chosen. This new album is inspired by the magical and sometimes unsettling way in which advertising, technology, and pop culture become intertwined with our memories. ‘No Bad Memories’ is an ambivalent ode to the nostalgic appeal of commercial jingles, startup sounds, and forgotten audio tunes. The album features collaborations with artists such as Karen O, Jamie XX, and Portraits of Tracy.
