Liz Jones & Broken Windows
After a great performance in 2023, Liz Jones returns to Matrix Rotterdam This time with her band Broken Windows. Scottish singer-songwriter Liz Jones sings special songs, often taken from life; original music with unpolished, natural energy. She is a singer with roots in the rock and blues world who can bring peace with her versatile voice and 'wake the dead'.
Liz Jones & Broken Windows sound different, but can be compared to Little Feat, The Faces and Fleetwood Mac, with the similarities being the team connection on stage, where each tune is simply taken where it needs to go. The six-piece band plays eclectic music and has toured the world. A wonderful support for the idiosyncratic Liz Jones.
Vintage bluesman John Bruce (Original Blues'N'Trouble) co-writes many Windows songs, and continues to take their blues and psychedelic numbers to an extra dimension. Gary Davidson (Allmans Project) and Rod Kennard (Blues'N'Trouble) and multi-instrumentalist Suzy Cargill contribute on African djembe, mandolin and Jamie Hamilton on piano and organ brings times of total focus to the keyboards for both subtle music and wild instinctive solos.
John Bruce: guitar (Former B'N'T)
Suzy Cargill: percussion & mandolin (Former Hong Kong Sinfonietta)
Rod Kennard: bass (Former B'N'T)
Gary Davidson: drums (Allmans Project)
Jamie Hamilton: keyboards
Liz Jones: vocals & lyrics
