Fifteen-year-old Mahmoud lives in a flat in Oslo with his parents and little brother Ali. In the summer, he likes to hang out with his Somali friend Arif. But when his uncle Ji from Pakistan comes to visit, he has to show him around the city, together with Ali. He finds out that Ali wants to be a girl and that changes his view of the world. Listen up! is a sparkling comedy about identity, gender, class and family, based on the novel of the same name by Gulraiz Sharif.
