RAW BLUES AND ROCK FROM THE MEUSE DELTA
The blues doesn't need a Mississippi. Along the Meuse, life and love can also sometimes throw a curveball. Les Salopes turns it into music. Four seasoned men, with gritty blues, rock, and enough stories to fill the evening. Sometimes straight to the point, sometimes surprisingly sensitive. After all, even a raw voice can say something sweet.
On their 2025 EP 'Histories and Scars', that is given a fitting title. Stories and scars—there is something to sing about there. Henk Koorn of Hallo Venray was responsible for the production of the single 'When I Play My Guitar'. Original work, then, about heartbreak, misery, and the things that get you out of bed the next morning anyway.
That sounds heavy, but fortunately Les Salopes also have a sense of humor. The joy of playing keeps the misery company. On Saturday, September 19, they will be playing at SoundVille. An evening of blues and rock with rough edges. You don't need to dress smartly for that.
