La Vita va Cosi

La Vita va Cosi is a moving Italian comedy about a shepherd who is the only one to resist real estate developers wanting to build a luxurious holiday resort near his idyllic Sardinian village. Based on true events. A Milanese businessman with a large real estate empire has set his sights on building a luxurious resort near the beach of a sleepy Sardinian village. The unemployed residents are overjoyed, but there is one obstacle: Efisio, an elderly shepherd whose family has been grazing their cows on the idyllic beaches for generations. Efisio refuses to sell his house and his land. Riccardo Milani’s film, based on true events, takes place in a magnificent landscape and is a warm, funny, and ultimately quite poignant David and Goliath story with great performances, especially from amateur actor Loi (a real shepherd since he was 14) as the unlikely hero. A heartwarming underdog story about things that cannot be bought, including beautiful landscapes and an unmistakably Italian perspective.
