Casper & Emma gaan naar het theater is an episode of the sweet Norwegian children's series directed by Arne Lindtner, based on the books by Tor Age Bringsvaerd. Casper and Emma are five years old, very curious and almost always in the company of their inseparable cuddly toys Mevrouw Konijn and Welpje. Casper and Emma's school goes on a trip to the theatre for a performance of Sleeping Beauty. While Emma is immediately enchanted by the acting, Casper is more interested in the lighting technology. He is allowed to operate the follow spot across the stage and she patiently explains to him how everything works. Once back at school, the class decides to work on a real theatre performance for charity: electricity for poor children in India. Everyone participates, including the cuddly toys. They choose the appropriate fairy tale about the Lichtjesvolk, decorate the stage with little lanterns and create a beautiful set. Emma gets the lead role. But then ‘fate’ strikes: Casper's best friend gets injured and can no longer perform. Dancing hurts too much and that is precisely an important part of her role.
