Kayente is a club concept that revolves around warmth, rhythm, energy and cultural connection.
Kayente is a concept inspired by Caribbean roots, with a tropical experience at its core. “Kayente” means “hot” in Papiamentu, a reference to the Curaçaoan background on which the idea is based. From this basis, a concept has emerged that revolves around warmth, rhythm, energy and cultural connection.
KAYENTE aims to bring sounds and influences that are still underexposed in much of today's electronic music into the spotlight. The first edition took place at MONO in Rotterdam and showed that there is room for these kinds of nights: a diverse, curious audience, a dance floor that was constantly moving, and an atmosphere that felt organic.
KAYENTE is a place where diasporic music genres and contemporary club culture meet. Think of music genres such as afrotech, afro house, caribbean, batida, baile funk, diasporic edits and global percussive club sounds
