Karin Bloemen - Renaissance 2.0
After the extensive celebration of her 40th anniversary in the theater in 2023, Karin made a special trip to the south of Chile in early 2024, a very sparsely populated area with much natural beauty.
It was an overwhelming experience, in which it seemed as if she had been taken back in time by a time machine about fifty years; not stressed people everywhere living in their cell phones, but people who have time and have real conversations with each other.
That intense feeling of a more natural pace of life that we have not known here for a long time, worked like a huge mirror and brought her to the simple conclusion: we need a new renaissance! Just as the renaissance after the dark middle ages drew its inspiration from the time of the Greeks and Romans, we now need inspiration from the past again to wrestle ourselves out of the dark time we are in now. And fifty years ago was the 70s; freedom, creativity and the most fantastic music!
In this performance, Karin takes the audience in her own humorous way in her time machine, to enjoy the time before the computer, back to the human scale. Together with her fantastic four-piece band, she provides an inspiring performance, which arms the audience against the challenges of this time and with a big smile on their face, back into the 21st century.
